Proud in heart and crooked in counsel, the 'Spineless Suitor' mocks the young prince and seeks the Queen’s hand, that he may seize the throne for himself. He feasts without end beneath the royal roof, drinking the household’s wine and consuming its riches as though they were his by birthright. He scorns the poor and helpless, yet when the long-returned king comes forth, his bold tongue falters and the coward hides from the wrath of the rightful lord.

The 'Spineless Suitor' is clad in garments dark as the storm-cloud, with a custom cloak upon his shoulders and a dual-sided head print bearing a look of cold contempt, crowned with an official hairpiece. In his hand he raises an official goblet, ever ready to feast upon the royal stores and drain the household’s wine as though all within the palace were his own.

Across the wine-dark sea and through the ruins of Troy, heroes, kings and queens are bound together by war, fate and the long road home as part of the 'Aegean Odyssey' collection.
